Welcome to acronym Records!

Managing partners Tony Tarleton and Mike Denney have announced the re-launch of acronym Records, anchoring themselves as the latest full service record label imprint in Canada with a global focus.  With roots in Toronto, day to day operations of acronym Records will be led by music executive Tony Tarleton, who brings a multitude of expertise, creativity and knowledge in both artist and label services in addition to his record business acumen, passion and staunch ability to grow new business around the world.

As a dynamic music professional for close to 30 years, Tarleton’s career is the combination of expertise as a leading figure in the music business fueled by a love of music, creativity, passion for developing artists, nurturing relationships and continually altering how business is done.  He has held various positions in the music industry at both independent and major record labels, including Universal Music Canada, EMI Music Canada and most recently Cadence Music Group.  For the past 15 years, Tarleton has worked side by side with many of the world’s leading independent labels and is a steadfast supporter of the indie community both in Canada and around the world.  Additionally, Tarleton served on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) from 2013-2016 and currently sits on the Advisory Board for MusicOntario.
