Kaia Kater

Originally from Montreal, Quebec, Grenadian-Canadian Kaia Kater has released 3 full-length albums to date, including the Juno Nominated “Grenades” in 2018. Songs from her albums have accumulated more than 5 million streams to date. She has won or been nominated for multiple Canadian Folk Awards over her career and won a Canadian Screen Award in 2023 for Best Original Song, featured in the ground-breaking television series The Porter.

Kaia is a genre-bending artist, whose evolution has been extraordinary.

From her early banjo- fronted recordings Sorrow Bound (2015) and Nine Pin (2016) to the more ambient and spacial Grenades (2018), she has continued to evolve her styles to convey a broad range of emotions and topics. Grenades was also on the Long List for the venerable Polaris Music Prize.

Her collaboration with multi-Grammy nominee Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah on the track “Parallels”(2021) is a stunning example of how Kaia has evolved and we can’t wait to see what she brings next!

Her music has received acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, No Depression, and The Guardian and has been featured multiple times on NPR (including a Tiny Desk performance in 2019) , the CBC and more.
